The aim of the article is to demonstrate the possibility of effectively applying for access to public information based on the provisions of the Act of 6 September 2001 on Access to Public Information (Journal of Laws of 2016, item 1764) via electronic mail. The issue of the admissibility of applying for access to public information via electronic mail has been the subject of deliberations of doctrine and case law in recent years. Administrative courts have made it clear that a written request for access to public information should also include inquiries established via electronic mail – even if the application is not provided with the first and last name of the applicant.
